Swimming Lessons

Over the last two weeks all Target Road classes have been fortunate to receive free swimming instruction from qualified swimming instructors. This programme was funded by Harbour Sport and implemented as part of the Greater Auckland Aquatics Action Plan. Three to four instructors were in the pool and working with our children every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The improvement in confidence and swimming ability was clearly evident as you can see from the following photos.

Swimming instruction at New Zealand Primary Schools is mandatory. 

It has been pleasing to note the high number of children remembering to bring their togs and towel five days a week! However more importantly it has been fantastic to see the improvement in students' confidence in the water. Well done for giving it a go!

No one ever learnt to swim by staying out of the water.
