Bird and Nest Sequencing Stories

Bird and Nest Sequencing Stories
Week 1, Term 4.

As the lead-up to our asTTle writing sample
(for assessment and reporting) Room 11
wrote a sequencing story.

The children usually sequence/order their own story but this time I put the story in order so all of the class had to follow the same sequence.

I spoke with each child individually and we discussed how they feel they are doing against their Writing goals. Then we re-crafted stories together and generally had fun with the process.

I am very proud of how the kids are tracking with their writing. Everyone put their best 'pencil' forward and we achieved and awesome communal result.

Here's the process behind our end product, what we did and how it turned out!

Enjoy!!

The 'raw' starting product
The sequence was glued into the children's books
Then the children wrote their stories ...

Elizabeth
Anahera
Wilson
Tyson
Maeve
Rico

After the children had written their stories and had conferenced with me, I 'published' (typed up) their stories, printed them out and glued them onto some colourful paper.

Then I put the corresponding sequence pictures on each part of their stories, ordered the cards and laminated them!
PHEW, what a job!!

The cards were then cut out of the laminating sheets, hole punched and grouped.

Finally ... we have our published & finished
'Mix n' Match' sequencing stories for the class to read and enjoy!

Feel free to pop in and check them out!
