As part of our inquiry into simple machines Room 11 looked at levers.

A lever is a rigid bar or piece of wood used to exert a pressure by pivoting on its fulcrum. There are 3 types of lever depending on where the fulcrum is placed.

We investigated one of the 3 types of lever by making a marshmallow catapult. Unlike a see-saw this type of lever has its fulcrum at the base of the catapult. The process is outlined in the video displayed.
